Hurricane Gustav

We ended up evacuating to David's apartment in Baton Rouge for Gustav. Unfortunately, Baton Rouge was hit pretty hard so we had no hot water and no electricity for several days. You can just imagine how much "fun" we all had. Thanks Uncle Dave for letting us come "visit"!

Here is a picture of Uncle Dave before he went swimming with his college buddies...only college students go swimming during a Category 3 hurricane!

This was one of Michael's favorite toys during the power outage... you can just imagine! The boys also enjoyed making shadow animals with their flashlights.

Notice the bottle of "Starter" fluid in David's hands. He must have used the entire bottle to get the pit going. At one point the flames were at least one foot above his head.

Orange Beach - Family Vacation

Here are some pictures from the summer family vacation. We all had a great time playing and the beach and swimming in the pool. The boys were so excited that their Uncle David was able to spend a couple of days with us.
These pictures were taken at the Pirates Cover Putt Putt course.

This is Micheal after doing a Cannon Ball. He was so impressed with himself and we were glad to see that he like going under water.

Here are the boys after a long day of fun in the sun!

Just look at those curls!

No, we don't make a habit of dressing alike. These pictures were taken right outside a local seafood restaurant after we had our family beach photos taken.

Christian's First "Real" Haircut

Here is a picture of Christian after he had his first "real" haircut. I had been cutting the length for several months but the time had come where he really needed to have it professionally done. I was nervous to have Christian's haircut for two reasons: #1 Michael HATES to have his hair cut and I really didn't want to have to deal with that with Christian and #2 because I was afraid that Christian would lose all of his curls!

Well, Amy did an excellent job and we kept the curls! Christian was such a trooper that he got a lollipop when we left. He was thrilled!

Who Needs Toys...

Christian and Michael found the foil in the pantry one evening while I was cooking dinner and had a blast! I was amazed at just how long this simple thing entrained them! No batteries, no directions, no set up...what parent could ask for an easier form of entertainment?

Home Improvements

Grammy and Grumps decided to do a couple of home improvements this summer. Of course the boys were more than willing to "help". Michael was so excited to help his Dad with some of the wood work. He was also looking forward to painting!

Girl's Night Out

A bunch of us got together at Acme Oyster House to celebrate Courtney's last day at East Jefferson. A night out with the girls is always a lot of fun! Good luck with your new job Courtney!
